How to make 2009 your most productive training year ever!

Athletes should  evaluate their progress at the end of a macrocycle. Such a cycle should be structured around your dates of competition, thus evaluation can take place at any time during a year.

If you are not competing, I find that the end of the calender year is a natural time to look back on your achievements in the past year and to compare your present physique to where you were a year ago:

Have you made progress? How MUCH progress have you made? Are you satisfied?

I use specially designed one year sheet to keep track of the all types of progress of my clients (as well as in my own training), but regardless of how you do it you should keep a written record of your performances.

You will make 2009 your best training year ever, by applying my three step formula for succes:

1. Stop doing what does not work.
2. Keep doing what works, but do it better than ever before.
3. Start applying at least one effective strategy, that will target a weak link, and that you haven't applied yet.

Evaluate yourself on spiritual and mental/emotional strength, your internal biochemistry and nutritional habits as well as your training program. (How to accurately perform such evaluations is beyond the scope of this short blog)
