The most important skill in strength and power training?
I personally believe, that the most important skill in power training is the ability
to turn within
to feel and see your whole body "in three dimensions"
to SEE and FEE your body as ONE whole unit of unlimited power
Done correctly, an athlete will have this "1000 mile stare" so often talked about and the really great one, like Alexejev, will have an immense power radiating from them.
Some might need to yell and scream to get "psyched up", but the smart ones (typically the strongest) will turn that energy within to fuel their strength.
